چکیده

The determination of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in environmental samples, such as drinking waters, requires the design high performing versatile sensing strategies. Label-free biosensing platforms based on specialty fiber optics are a valid option to face this challenge. Among them, lossy mode resonance (LMR) optic biosensors showing remarkable performance terms detection limit, selectivity, reproducibility. small molecules, perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), can be achieved with help well-designed biological recognition layers. In study, potentialities label-free LMR-assisted optical platform nanocoated fibers investigated. Delipidated human serum albumin (hSA) was used layer for PFOA aqueous solution. Different functionalization protocols covalent immobilization hSA were tested. conformational changes related formation hSA/PFOA complex followed via monitoring LMR spectral shift, trend that modeled Langmuir adsorption isotherm. These results confirmed potentiality LMR-based PFOA, synthetic samples.

Graphene Oxide in Lossy Mode Resonance-Based Optical Fiber Sensors for Ethanol Detection

The influence of graphene oxide (GO) over the features of an optical fiber ethanol sensor based on lossy mode resonances (LMR) has been studied in this work. Four different sensors were built with this aim, each comprising a multimode optical fiber core fragment coated with a SnO₂ thin film. Layer by layer (LbL) coatings made of 1, 2 and 4 bilayers of polyethyleneimine (PEI) and graphene oxide ...

Designing a Label Free Aptasensor for Detection of Methamphetamine

A label-free electrochemical nucleic acid aptasensor for the detection of methamphetamine (MA) by the immobilization of thiolated self-assembled DNA sequences on a gold nanoparticles-chitosan modified electrode is constructed. When MA was complexed specifically to the aptamer, the configuration of the nucleic acid aptamer switched to a locked structure and the interface of the biosensor changed...

Real-Time Label-Free Surface Plasmon Resonance Biosensing with Gold Nanohole Arrays Fabricated by Nanoimprint Lithography

In this work we present a surface plasmon resonance sensor based on enhanced optical transmission through sub-wavelength nanohole arrays. This technique is extremely sensitive to changes in the refractive index of the surrounding medium which result in a modulation of the transmitted light. The periodic gold nanohole array sensors were fabricated by high-throughput thermal nanoimprint lithograp...

Tapered Optical Fiber Sensor for Label-Free Detection of Biomolecules

This paper presents a fast, highly sensitive and low-cost tapered optical fiber biosensor that enables the label-free detection of biomolecules. The sensor takes advantage of the interference effect between the fiber's first two propagation modes along the taper waist region. The biomolecules bonded on the taper surface were determined by demodulating the transmission spectrum phase shift. Beca...

Label-free, disposable fiber-optic biosensors for DNA hybridization detection.

A novel and highly sensitive fiber-optic DNA sensor based on a thin-core fiber modal interferometer (TCFMI) is demonstrated by using a layer-by-layer (LbL) self-assembly technology. Poly(ethylenimine) (PEI), poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) and single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) were used for the preparation of a polyelectrolyte multilayer film for DNA detection. The film thickness was measured through a surf...
